Our Mission
American Sign Language Interpreters exists to make every conversation accessible to the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. We connect clients with Certified ASL Interpreters for the moments that matter — and we train the next generation of interpreters who will carry that work forward.
ASL is a complete, natural language with its own grammar, syntax, and culture. Effective interpretation isn’t just translation; it’s bridging two languages and two communities with accuracy, ethics, and care. Whether you’re booking an interpreter for an appointment or pursuing certification yourself, our work centers on the same goal: equitable communication access for every Deaf person, every time.
Our Approach
For clients hiring an interpreter
Every assignment begins with a clear understanding of the setting, subject matter, and the Deaf consumer’s communication preferences. We match each request with a Certified ASL Interpreter whose experience fits the context — medical, legal, educational, mental health, business, or community — so interpretation is accurate, culturally informed, and confidential. We follow the RID Code of Professional Conduct on every job and are committed to ADA-compliant communication access.
For aspiring interpreters in training
Our training program is built around three pillars: language proficiency, interpreting skill, and professional ethics. Students move from intermediate ASL through consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, build domain vocabulary in specialized fields, and complete supervised practicum hours alongside working interpreters. Coursework prepares candidates for national certification exams and the realities of professional practice — the booth, the courtroom, the clinic, and the classroom.
Both sides of our work are connected: the interpreters we train today are the ones answering tomorrow’s requests.
Get Involved
There are two ways to work with us — pick the one that matches what you need.
Reserve a Certified ASL Interpreter. If you have an upcoming appointment, hearing, class, or event that needs ASL interpretation, request an interpreter and we’ll confirm availability, location, and any prep materials.
Train to become a Certified ASL Interpreter. If you’re an intermediate or advanced signer ready to turn your skills into a profession, sign up for training to learn about the curriculum, schedule, and enrollment.
Not sure which path fits? Reach out from either page and tell us about your situation — we’ll point you in the right direction.
